Join the University of Alabama and the Goethe-Zetrum Atlanta for the latest in our Martin Luther programming with a lecture from Prof. Dr. Michael Haspel at the University of Alabama.

Entitled "More than a Name? From Martin Luther to Martin Luther King, Jr.", the lecture will explore how Martin Luther King, Jr. draw on insights of Martin Luther and the reformation for his motivation and concept for the struggle for freedom, justice and equality.

A short reception will follow the program.

About the Speaker:
Prof. Dr. Michael Haspel is director of the Protestant Academy of Thuringia and extraordinary professor for Systematic Theology at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. He studied protestant theology, rhetoric and public law in Tübingen, Bonn and Harvard, received a master of Theology from the Harvard Divinity School and a Ph.D. in theology from the University of Marburg. His emphasis is on social ethics. He was guest lecturer at Stellenbosch University, South Africa and the University of Tartu, Estonia.
